Q&A with Zach Ladner, Norman High Linebacker and Fullback
Tell us about your injury, how are you mending and will you be able to play any more sports before graduating? My injury is doing well, Its been close to 7 weeks now since I broke my leg and the doctors have said that it is healing perfectly and I should have no worries about playing next year and in fact that it should be actually stronger than before.
As a senior leader, what advice do you have for the underclassmen for the coming years?
Some advice to the underclassmen I have is since the season is over your focus now has to shift completely to this team next year. Learn from mistakes of this year and take that but don't dwell on it. Next year you guys will be solid and a lot of you will be asked to take on more significant roles next year so it is critical to be in the weight room and to be out there running. Also you guys have to buy into the program, accept that your coaches know what they're doing and learn.
Recently on a NewsOK.com blog it was mentioned that you are still a D-1 prospect, how does that make you feel given that you missed a good chunk of your senior season?
The blog on newsok.com was real flattering. I mean anytime someone believes your a D1 prospect its kind of the ultimate compliment as a high school football player.
What advice would you give to a younger teammate on how to handle the recruiting process?
To the younger kids about the recruiting process I would say a couple things. First, dont shy anyway from any coaches that are coming to recruit you whether its someone from D3 or D2 or whatever because you never know who will offer or who will not. Along with that dont let your recruiting consume you as a player and indivual because its easy to get wrapped up on how you're such a "balla" but all that glory can be taken just as easily.
What are you looking forward to most after you graduate from high school?
Probably what I am looking forward to most after high school are some new girls for sure but just being able to play football again and being in a new enviroment.
Finally, does Jack Jewell really ride horses? How many hands high does the horse have to be to handle a giant like him?
Ha Ha, I am pretty sure jack doesnt ride any horses and if he did, he would probably have to ride like a Giraffe or Elephant because on a horse I am pretty sure his legs are still on the ground.
